Jenny Soonjin Kim

Jenny Soonjin Kim has earned an international reputation as a distinguished pianist, fortepianist, and recording artist. As an exclusive artist with SONY Classical, she released her acclaimed solo album, Eternal Beethoven. Known for her dynamic artistry and prolific recording career, Kim has performed and recorded a wide range of keyboard works from Bach to Schoenberg on Arabesque Records, which once nominated her for the Gilmore Artist Award. She has also achieved the world-premiere recording of Johann Friedrich Doles's keyboard sonatas and the complete keyboard sonatas of Leopold Kozeluch, released as a 12-CD box set by Brilliant Classics.
A celebrated performer on the international stage, Kim performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonie at the Musikverein’s Golden Hall in Vienna in 2022, commemorating the 130th anniversary of Korea-Austria diplomatic relations. Following this, she reprised the concerto with the Nürnberger Symphoniker at the Berlin Philharmonie’s Grand Hall in March 2024. She was appointed as a visiting professor for the Wiener Masterclass at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (MDW) in summer 2024. Currently, Kim is recording Beethoven's complete five piano concertos with the Savaria Symphonieorchester, under the baton of Maestro Robert Papocsi, with a projected completion in 2026.
Kim promotes Korean and American cultural arts as a key ambassador. In 2023, at the U.S.-Korea 70th Anniversary Concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall, she played a central role in securing funding, coordinating entertainment, and connecting the LA Master Chorale with Korean government representatives.
Kim is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice at Claremont Graduate University, where she leads the piano/fortepiano program and directs the Performance Forum. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Master Chorale and as Co-Chair of its Gala Host Committee for the 60th anniversary season. Recently, she was offered the role of Regional South Chair for the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) Concerto Competition.
