Barbara Gisler-Haase

Barbara Gisler-Haase is Viennese and has been flute professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for many years. She was a prize-winner at the “Prague Spring” competition in 1974 and in the same year she started teaching at the university. Chamber music has always been a central point of her artistic commitment. As a member of the “Eurasia Quartet”, the “Vienna Nonett” and the “Vienna Bach Soloists” she gathered the experiences which led to her founding the “Vienna Flautists” and in 1997 the “Jubal Trio” in the formation flute, cello and piano. She has recorded over 15 CD’s and had a busy concert career. Barbara Gisler-Haase is author of the flute series “Magic Flute” and “fit for the flute” (Universal Edition, Vienna). Her students prove themselves internationally successful in competitions and auditions.
