Hee Song Song
Graduated from Seoul National University and Vienna National University as a top student, Hee Song Song was awarded by culture administer and earned her degree from Wien Musikhochschule.
Her extensive performance with several orchestras, such as Petersburg Camerata, Stuttgart Chamber, Janeck Chamber, Toronto Symphony, Kasan Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic, Savaria Symphony, Bratislava Orchestra, Moskva Philharmonic, Chaltonham Symphony, North Czech Philharmonic, Timisoara Orchestra, Religion Chamber Orchestra, Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Cologne Chamber Orchestra, Metropolitan Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra and more, as well as Korea Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra made her skills extraordinary and well-developed.
Being one of the most recognized cellists in South Korea, she also performed in various music festival as an invited guest, such as Symphony Festival, Chamber music Festival, Seoul International Music Festival, Korean Artist Invitation Concert, Korean Traditional Music Festival, and Korean World Cup Concert. She has further participated in international music festivals such as Spohr Academy, Carl Flesch Academy, Wiener-Meisterkurs, Euro Music Festival, Stresa Music Festival, Kusats Music Festival, Interform 2000 Festival, Asian Youth Festival, Kobe Cello Festival, Calahola Music Festival, Erasmus Music Festival, Korean Art Festival in Vienna and much more as an academic adviser.
Hee Song Song founded Seoul Soloist Cello Ensemble, consisting of the best Korean cellist. Since 2006, she lead her ensemble with regular performance, concert tours around Korea, and various invited performance. She aimed to share her music to a broader population, leading her to perform at nursing home, community centers, and orphanages; areas that are neglected sponsorship from culture foundation and commission.
Her performance was recorded and released within the Korean Musician Series CD, where her songs were selected as the most loved piece. She was then specially invited to perform the piece.
In 2015, she received Korea Music Award and is currently a professor in Daegu Catholic University.
