Andela Radunovic
Anđela Radunović was born in Belgrade in 1996 and received both violin and viola lessons at the music school. In 2012 she graduated from the Music High School in Belgrade in the subjects violin and viola. In the same year she began studying viola with Wolfgang Klos at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She completed her studies in 2018 and received the honorary award from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in recognition of her excellent academic achievements. Since autumn 2018 she has been continuing her studies in the postgraduate viola course with Hans Peter Ochsenhofer, while at the same time working as an assistant to Wolfgang Klos at the mdw. She is an assistant at the university until the winter semester of 2020, when she will take over the viola class on an interim basis and stayed there until the new professor was named. Since 2022 she is teaching viola at Institute 2 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
She is a prize winner of numerous international competitions in Serbia, Italy and Romania. At the Brahms Competition in Pörtschach in 2015, she was awarded a special prize for her interpretation of Paul Hindemith's sonata. She is a prizewinner at the state and national competition Prima la musica and received the mdw Benjamin Prize. In 2016 and 2017 she took part in the Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic and attended the chamber music master class there. In 2017 she was given the opportunity to study with Jensen Lams as a scholarship holder at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
The young violist has already performed in a wide variety of groups, including the Wiener Musikverein, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Brucknerhaus Linz, the MuTh and the Musikverein Graz. As a violist with Ensemble xx.jahrhundert and Ensemble Platypus is very active on the contemporary music scene. She is often a guest in projects at Klangforum Wien and in the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera, Wiener Symphoniker and has been an academy member of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2019.
