Participation Terms and Conditions on the Summer Master Classes of Wiener MusikSeminar
Our Offer:
We guarantee each performing participant and ensemble a minimum of 4 hours of lessons (60 minutes each), except for the conducting and soloist courses.
Accompaniment for instrumental and singing lessons is provided free of charge.
Listeners and observing participants may apply in consultation with the organizer.
Participants are allowed to observe other participants' lessons with the professor’s approval.
Accommodation at Sommerhotel Wieden, interpreters (for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian), and visa assistance are available for an additional fee (see "Fees" or "Accommodation").

Practice Rooms:
Piano students will have access to practice rooms at Mynext Hotel Rudy free of charge for approximately one hour per day, subject to availability, where reservations can be made.
Other students may practice in their hotel rooms at Mynext Hotel Rudy.
Additional practice rooms can be booked at Klavier Galerie at the participant's own expense.
Concerts and Events: Each course block includes the following events organized by Wiener MusikSeminar: the Opening Event, the Concert of Professors, two Concerts of Participants, the Prof. Dichler Competition, and the Concert of Award Winners. All events take place at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, except for one Concert of Participants, which is held in Lower Austria. Only students recommended by the professor are eligible to perform in the concerts. All concerts are open to the public and free of charge.
Concerts in Lower Austria: Each course block includes a concert in Lower Austria at various historical venues:
1st Block: Haydn's Birthplace in Rohrau and Hilde Wagener Künstlerheim in Baden
2nd Block: Heiligenkreuz-Gutenbrunn Castle and Atzenbrugg Castle (Schubert Memorial)
3rd Block: Haydn's Birthplace in Rohrau
4th Block: Parish Church Münchendorf
5th Block: Hilde Wagener Künstlerheim in Baden
For trips to Haydn's Birthplace in Rohrau, Heiligenkreuz-Gutenbrunn Castle, and Atzenbrugg Castle, Wiener MusikSeminar arranges bus transfers, lunch at a local restaurant, and a guided tour of the historical site (reservations can be made at our office at the university). Performers traveling to Hilde Wagener Künstlerheim and Parish Church Münchendorf will be transported by car.
Diploma: All active participants receive a diploma. Listeners and passive participants may request a confirmation letter from our office.
Prof. Dichler Competition: Award winners of the Prof. Dichler Competition receive a certificate and a badge (metal plaque) and perform at the Concert of Award Winners on the following day.
General Conditions:
Applicants wishing to take lessons with a specific professor should register promptly. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course changes are only possible with the organizer’s approval and subject to availability.
Each applicant should prepare at least three pieces by different composers (except for singing master classes, where an appropriate selection of pieces should be prepared).
The lesson schedule will be arranged with the professor on the first day of the course.
The administration will email participants a week before the course begins with details about the first meeting at our office at the university. This meeting will provide general information about the master classes and the scheduled start times.
Highly talented children and adolescents are welcome to participate; however, adult supervision is required for younger participants.
Wiener MusikSeminar reserves the right to use photos and videos from the master classes for marketing purposes (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, website). Please contact us if you have any concerns.

Master Classes for Chamber Music
Master classes for chamber music introduce participants to ensemble pieces ranging from duos to octets.
Chamber music ensembles must be formed beforehand.
Each ensemble member is required to submit an individual application.
While each member is required to pay the full registration fee individually, the course fee will be shared among the ensemble members.
Fees:
Each participant pays a registration fee (€195), valid throughout the master class season (July - September 2024).
For each master class, participants pay a course fee based on the class rates (€598). This excludes chamber music participants, who share the course fee, and participants in the conducting and soloist courses, which have separate rates.
Accommodation, interpreter services (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian), and visa support are available for additional fees:
• Accommodation at Mynext Hotel Rudy: €54.50 per person, per night (double room), or €86 per night (single room).
• Interpreters: €180 per course.
• Visa Application Fee: €95 for participants requiring a travel visa to attend the master class.
Refund Policy:
Course fees are eligible for refunds under the following conditions (registration fees are refundable only in cases 2 and 3):
1. Force majeure
2. Course cancellation by the management
3. No remaining availability in the course
4. For cancellations at least 4 weeks before the course, 100% of the course fee is refunded; for cancellations 2 weeks before, 50% is refunded. Cancellations within the last 2 weeks before the course are non-refundable.
Registration:
To register, please complete the online application form.
* Deadline: Register online by June 30 or at least 4 weeks before the start of your selected course.
* Registration Fee: €195, payable at the time of registration. (Applications will only be processed once the registration fee has been received.)
Payment and Bank Account:
Confirmation of payment will only be issued after all required payments (registration fee, course fee, and any additional fees such as those for interpreters or visa applications) have been received. Please note that confirmation for the registration fee alone will not be provided. Participants will receive a confirmation email once the full payment has been processed.
Accommodation fees must be paid directly to Mynext Hotel Rudy.
All payments must be made in € (EURO) with the note “free of charge for the recipient” and completed before the course begins. Any bank fees incurred must be settled at our office on the first day of the course.
We do not accept credit cards or personal checks.

Rates are discounted for the participants of these courses only and include also free practice rooms for pianists in the hotel. Hotel reservations have to be made via email in advance directly at Mynext Hotel Rudy.

Covid-19 Information
Due to the announcement by the Federal Minister for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection that the quarantine obligation in case of an infection with Corona will be lifted from 1 August 2022, it is necessary to adjust the Covid 19 safety measures at the mdw.
We would like to inform you that, due to this short-term change, the following measures will apply to participants and professors from 1 August 2022 as a transitional arrangement - especially for the protection of vulnerable members of the Wiener Musikseminar:

Due to the specific situation of the Wiener Musikseminar, Corona illnesses or infections with Corona must still be reported without exception (

Official instructions regarding Covid 19 restrictions, and the FFP-2 mask mandate must be followed.
The following also applies to take part in the masterclass:
Participants and professors with a Corona infection must stay away from the university at least from the start of the infection or in the case of a positive test, despite the absence of symptoms or a mild course of the disease.
Entering the university is possible after 5 days if there are no symptoms and a so called free test has been carried out (negative PCR test or CT value equal to or above 30). After 10 days, the university can be entered in any case.
