Walter Moore
Walter Moore graduated from Stanford University in California and attended master classes with Rosina Lhevinne. A Fulbright scholarship brought him to Vienna, where he continued his studies with Erik Werba. From 1965 he was engaged as a coach in the voice department of the Vienna University of Music, where he was promoted to professor for Lied and oratorio in 1984. For many years he assisted Hans Hotter in courses in Austria and abroad; gave classes throughout Europe, Asia and the US.
Since 1978 he has taught at the Franz-Schubert-Institute in Baden bei Wien. He has appeared at international festivals in Europe and the USA as pianist with the Vienna based „Ensemble Contraste“ and repeatedly accompanied such artists as Ileana Cotrubas, László Polgár, Wolfgang Holzmair und Takao Okamura in recitals.
Course content: Interpretation of songs and oratorio (cantata, passion) for singers and accompanists. Interested pianists will receive a list of repertory in time to prepare for the course
